Waldemar Gauer

Waldemar Edward Gauer, 93, formerly of Vincennes, passed away Nov. 14, 2014, at Glenridge Health Care in Louisville, KY.Ed had worked as a field examiner for the Indiana State Board of Accounts. A Navy veteran, he served in the SeaBees in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a lifelong member of St. John's United Church of Christ.Born June 30, 1921, in Vincennes, he was the son of Frank and Lillie (Kuebler) Gauer. His parents preceded him, as well as his wife, Mildred Freda (Walker) Gauer, whom he married Nov. 27, 1949, and who passed away on May 23, 1996.Surviving is his son, Darvin Gauer, and his wife Connie, of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Maribelle Tempel of Reno, NV.A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, by Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson, at the Gardner Brockman Funeral Home, at 10:30. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 on Monday, at the funeral home.The family requests that no flowers be sent. Donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
