Wallace Reeve

Wallace Robert Reeve, 90, of Vincennes, went home to be with Jesus at 6:45 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2018.Wally was born on January 23, 1928 in Vincennes to David F. and Verna (Wallace) Reeve. He was a private contractor, Knox County Auditor for 8 years, and worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring from there. Dad enjoyed music, Barbershop Hoosier Harmonizers, and was an avid sports fan and sports official. He loved serving other people in the community through Organ's Greenhouse, Senior Citizen's VanGo, and community youth groups. Wally and his wife, Melva, were members of the First Church of God, where he served in numerous capacities.Wallace is survived by his wife of 68 years, Melva (Whitten) Reeve, sister Margie Snook of Mason, MI, children and their spouses: Marty (Kathy) Reeve, Christina (Manfred) Mueller, Jenny Reeve, Valerie (Jim) Kelly, grandchildren Daniel Hess, Julie (Chad) Weir, Matthew (Megan) Reeve, Jonathan (Jessica) Reeve, Bethany Reeve, Claire (Joshua) Skipper, Aaron Kelly, and 7 great-grandchildren.Friends may visit with Wally's family from 5-8 pm on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. Wally's funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park CemeteryIn lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or First Church of God.
