Walter Donnersberger

Walter J. (Buss) Donnersberger, 87, of 101 S. Sycamore, Wheatland, passed away at 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at New Willow Manor. Born January 29, 1924, in Decker, IN, he was the son of Henry and Ethel (Wampler) Donnersberger.Walter was a farmer and after retirement he continued to work for the Dunn family in Wheatland for fifteen years. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on his porch to relax and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served his country in the United States Army Air Force from January 1942 until October 1945 in Panama with the 430th AAF Base Unit. Survivors include his children, Denny Donnersberger of Cannelburg, IN and Carla "Jeannie" Prather and her husband Keith of Wheatland; grandchildren, Michael Prather and his wife Julie, Tricia Anthony and her husband Scott and Chris Donnersberger and his wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Kelle Prather and Lorinda Kirk; and sister, Linda Dunham of Orlando, FL.Preceding Walter in death were his parents; wife, Marjorie (Thomas) Donnersberger, whom he married November 21, 1946 in Sandusky, OH and she passed away on August 10, 1989; and two sisters, Dorothy Lane and Ruth Neal.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Jarrod Chattin officiating. Interment will follow in Wheatland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
