Wayne Jenkins

Wayne Edward Jenkins, 71 of 255 N. Barclay Drive, passed away on September 3, 2012 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Wayne was born on July 28, 1941 in Mitchell, IN the son of Luther and Ruby (Robbins) Jenkins. He married Roberta Dixon on November 5, 1960. Wayne worked as manager of Mills Supermarket in Mitchell, IN and then as Advertising Manager for Red and White E. Bierhaus and Son. He had recently worked as a wharehouse operator for Office Connection. He was a member of Franklin Heights Christian Church and the Mitchell Masonic Lodge. Wayne also enjoyed tinkering. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Jenkins of Vincennes; son, Gary D. Jenkins and his wife Beth of Georgetown, KY; daughter, Deanna L. Sargent and her husband Mark of Bicknell; son, Greg M. Jenkins of Vincennes; sister, Pat Hargesheimer of Madison, IN; brothers, Larry Jenkins of Orleans, IN; Danny Jenkins of Madison, IN; sister-in-law, Jan Strange of Orleans, IN; grandchildren, Patrick and Chris Sargent and Sarah and Lori Jenkins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Jenkins. Funeral services for Wayne will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Wayne's family from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Franklin Heights Christian Church, The American Heart Association or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
