William Oscar Raney Jr.

William O. Raney Jr., 65, of Wheatland, IN passed away September 7, 2023. He was born in Vincennes, IN on September 12, 1957, to the late William Raney Sr. and Shirley (Tapley) Raney-Garby. William attended Lincoln High School. He proudly served his country in both the United States Marines and Army. During his military career he served in the Vietnam war and Beirut. After serving, William worked as a teacher who traveled to Thailand, South Korea, and Laos teaching math and science. He was a member of the local VFW, Moose Lodge, and American Legion.

In his free time, William enjoyed exercising, and spending time with his dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

William is survived by his sons Daniel (Ashley) Raney and William (Kristen Mullins) Raney III; grandchildren Warren and Laura Raney; sisters Julie Like and Judy Raney; nephew Chris "Bub" Like; nieces Jackie and Jennifer Like; and many cousins.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Raney. A graveside services with full military honors will be held Friday, September 29, 2023 at 2pm in Memorial Park Cemetery.
