Wilma Raney

July 14, 1932 — March 26, 2011

Wilma M. Raney, 78 of 510 Grouseland, Vincennes, passed away with her family at her bedside at 10:49 a.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Wilma was born in Knox County, on July 14, 1932 the daughter of Orvie and Lula Grace (Walton) Knoblett. She married Robert E. Raney on November 27, 1954 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 2008. Wilma had been a telephone operator, a homemaker, and a florist at Buehler Buy-Low. She also worked at Perdue Farms. She was a member of the Beal Pentecostal Church for over 50 years where she was Secretary/Treasurer for many years. She loved flowers and enjoyed making quilts for her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking and making candy. Survivors include her son, Mark Raney and his wife, Regina of Vincennes; daughters, Marilyn Anson and her husband, Mark and Janice Snow and her husband Mike of Vincennes; twin sister, Thelma Wilson of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, Nathan Andrews and his wife Jennifer, Aaron Snow, Kaleigh Raney,Morgan Anson and 1 great granddaughter, Kinley Andrews. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Wilma was preceded in death by 1 son, Bradley Eugene Raney and 5 sisters, Violet Lucas, Edna Pittman, Lois McCoplin, Mary McCoplin and Phyllis Struble. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Pastor Michael Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice and Knox County Relay for Life.
